Really. Seriously. No one got hurt, except maybe her fiance.
The woman was facing a wedding with 600 guests and 14 bridesmaids. If that doesn't spell "nervous breakdown," I don't know what does.
She didn't kill anyone. She didn't rob a bank. Let's all chill. We are supposed to be HAPPY that she is not kidnapped and dead. Not angry at her.

She must have been completely and uttery desperate to do the following:
"Wilbanks told police she took a bus from Atlanta to Las Vegas, Nevada, and then boarded another bus for New Mexico, Albuquerque police Chief Ray Schultz said Saturday."
Are you kidding me? Can you imagine the horror? Isn't this why Southwest Airlines was invented??

Should we also be happy that her little freakout caused law enforcement agencies, both big and small, to spring into action searching for her. Should we also be happy that her description of the "suspects" smacks of the type of alarmist racism from which media experts create case studies. Should we also be happy her little escape from reality was planned a week in advance. Should we also be happy that despite being fully aware of the pain and despair her family and friends were experiencing, both publicly and privately, she still chose to hide out. Should we also be happy that she has yet to express any sort of remorse for that pain.
I intentionally left out question marks because the answers are clear.
But, on the other side:
Shouldn't we be ashamed of our collective selves for wanting to follow this story. Shouldn't we, as a society, place more emphasis on the joy of love and togetherness than we do on the pomp and circumstance of an elaborate wedding. Shouldn't we promote healthy dialogue between engaged couples so that both parties feel free to express their concerns and worries.
I don't think "we" should get involved at all. It is none of our business. We should be glad she is not dead. Period.
