Ah, the South

I am now in Orlando, after traveling in the VW from Philadelphia, to D.C. through Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.

Several interesting tidbits:

1) Cracker Barrel is now featuring low-carb meals. Yes, the home of biscuits, dumplings and mashed potatoes now offers its eaters a bevy of low carb choices. Wise marketing or the sign of the coming Apocalypse?

2) Tried some low-carb Atkins potato chips. They tasted like petroleum. No lie.

3) At a convenience store in south Georgia, I observed the following items for sale: Pork rinds (of course - plus they are low carb!); shot glasses emblazoned with the Confederate flag; figurines of black people playing musical instruments (how horrifying is THAT?)
