Don't you just want to know what KIND of sandwich?

Wife charged with murder after man stabbed in kitchen

An argument over a sandwich Monday night led a Gloucester County woman to fatally stab her husband, authorities said yesterday.

Charlene M. Arrison, 41, of Deptford, was arrested about 9 p.m. and charged with murdering Edward Arrison, 48, said Bernie Weisenfeld, spokesman for the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

An autopsy determined that Edward Arrison had died of a stab wound that penetrated his heart, Weisenfeld said.

The couple's two children - a 7-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son - were home but did not witness the killing, which took place in the kitchen, Weisenfeld said. Last night, they were staying with their maternal grandparents in Audubon.

Edward Arrison was charged in 2000 with assaulting Charlene, authorities said. The charges were dismissed in 2002, Weisenfeld said.

Charlene Arrison was held last night at the county women's jail in Clarksboro after failing to post $150,000 bail set by state Superior Court Judge Diane Cohen.
